In 1916, four C Class, C26;C27;C32 and C35, having been towed to Archangel, were loaded onto barges. They were then towed over 1,300 miles through Russia's waterways to Petrograd. Having been fitted with new batteries etc. they sailed for Reval to join the E Class Flotilla already stationed there.
